Protect Your Identity at ‘Secure Your ID Day’ 150 150 Southfield City Centre

Over 19 million Americans have been victims of identity-related fraud in the last two years. To help combat this serious issue, the Better Business Bureau (BBB) of Detroit and Eastern Michigan, along with GreenPath Debt Solutions, Cintas Corporation, and Global Electric Electronic Processing (GEEP), will sponsor a “Secure Your ID Day” on October 20. The event, which will take place at 26777 Central Park Blvd. from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., will offer document shredding, cell phone donation, computer hardware and electronic device recycling, and hard drive destruction. LTU Starts New Tradition With Homecoming Road Race 150 150 Southfield City Centre

Over 150 participants joined together for the first Lawrence Technological University (LTU) ‘Almost-Home’ Coming Rescue Run on September 23. The event, benefiting Southfield’s Almost home animal shelter, featured a four-mile race and a one-mile walk. Dogs were welcome. LTU Cross Country Coach Eric Green won the race with a time of 24:25.

The race kicked off a week of Homecoming activities, including a disc golf tournament, powder puff football, quidditch cup competition, a concert, comedy show and car show.

The International Festival returns to the Southfield Pavilion on October 5-7, 2012, sponsored by the City of Southfield, the International Institute of Metropolitan Detroit, St. John Providence and Federal-Mogul. Bring the entire family out for this fun, culturally-enriching event featuring:

  • International music and dance performances throughout the entire weekend
  • Hands-on activities for children
  • Ethnic arts and crafts demonstrations
  • Vendors offering authentic handmade and imported crafts, jewelry, fabrics, apparel and other gifts
  • International and ethnic food available for purchase

Weekend admission is $3 per person or $5 per family with free parking.
