New York City-based 601W Cos. closed on the $177.5 million purchase of the 2.2 million-square-foot office complex late Friday, said Michael Silberberg, principal of 601W. read more

Lawrence Technological University has been named the national organizer for the United States for the World Robot Olympiad Association(WRO-USA), which runs a global LEGO robotics competition that draws participants from around the world.

The Olympiad started in Singapore in 2004. This year over 17,000 teams are participating. Each country has its own competition, and the winning teams from each country are invited to attend the World Robot Olympiad to compete for gold, silver and bronze medals.  read more

Southfield Summer Soulstice, a new family festival and running event, has been announced for June 21. The event will take place at sunset on the Lawrence Technological University (LTU) campus. Southfield Summer Soulstice will offer participants 5K and 10K runs, which are available to all ages and abilities. Runners will be encouraged to stay after the run to enjoy the longest day of the year with their friends and families that are there to cheer them on. The event also offers a one mile family sunset stroll, music stage, Yoga Soul, kids’ activities, a Michigan craft beer tent, food trucks and much more, until 11p.m. read more

Lawrence Technological University has received a three-year $697,000 grant from the Wisconsin-based Kern Family Foundation to support further expansion of entrepreneurial-minded learning in the curricula for undergraduate engineering students.

This is the final phase of a series of grants adding up to over $2.4 million from the Kern Family Foundation that began in 2003. The goal is to incorporate the entrepreneurial mindset into undergraduate engineering education at LTU. read more
