Transportation officials from eight states recently met at Lawrence Technological University to view progress on a three-year study to evaluate alternative materials and a new design for a new approach to building longer-lasting and corrosion-free highway bridges.

The city of Southfield, in partnership with the City Centre Advisory Board, will sponsor the Eat to the Beat lunch concert series beginning on Thursday, June 13 from 12 noon – 2:00 p.m. at the City Centre Plaza located on Central Park Boulevard, one block west of Evergreen between Civic Center Drive and 11 Mile Road.
The concert lineup features an eclectic mix of music and artists, including:
July 11 – Straight Ahead – Virtuoso jazz ensemble
August 8 – The Sun Messengers – Horn-driven R&B
September 12 – Thornetta Davis – Detroit’s multi-award winning Queen of the Blues
All performances are free and open to the public. Food is available for purchase or you can bring your own.
