Faurecia is the world’s sixth largest automotive supplier, specializing in the design, development, production and just-in-time delivery of some of the most advanced modules in today’s vehicles. The company, which in 2011 supplied more than half the vehicles sold in North America and posted total sales of $22.5 billion, is headquartered in Nanterre, France. It employs 84,000 people in 36 countries at 270 sites and 40 R&D centers. Faurecia recently brought 80 new jobs to its Southfield Customer Center, located on the 17th and 18th floors of Travelers Tower I. The location, dedicated to engineering, sales and program activities of interior systems for Ford Motor Company, houses over 200 Faurecia Interior Systems employees.
“Southfield is a great place to do business, with a solid automotive base and easy access to all metro Detroit highways,” said Faurecia North America Director of Communications Stacie Tong “It is also centrally located to several other Faurecia sites, including our Auburn Hills Tech Center, our joint-venture Detroit Manufacturing Systems, our Fraser and Saline plants and customer Ford Motor Company’s teams in Dearborn.”
In September, while the Southfield employees were working from a temporary office in the Travelers Tower, the team participated in Faurecia’s annual FUELS Community Food Drive and a number of other activities to collect food and funds for Gleaners Community Food Bank. By the end of the month, they had donated over 5,000 pounds of food and earned a $500 donation to Gleaners from Faurecia.
Tong said Faurecia values its place in the Southfield community. “We appreciate the warm welcome we have received and are excited to see our company logo as part of the iconic Southfield skyline,” she said. “We look forward to many years of success here.”
