FOX Sports Detroit was the most-watched station in Detroit all weekend. On Friday, the Detroit Red Wings were the No. 1 show in Detroit all day, followed by the Detroit Tigers, beating out the NBA on ESPN and NASCAR on ESPN2. The Red Wings and Tigers were also the highest rated game in the country for their respective league on Friday. On Saturday, the Tigers were the No. 1 show all day, topping the NBA on ABC.
Sunday’s Red Wings’ Game 7 victory was the No. 1 show in Detroit all day, followed by the Tigers to surpass viewership of MLB on ESPN and Tigers Woods’ PGA win on NBC. The Red Wings game ranks 11th in FSD’s Top-20 Rated Games with a 14.5 household rating. The game peaked at 16.9 HH rating, a 40 share and 312,000 HH from 12:45 – 1:00 am. Friday’s Game 6 averaged a 13.05 HH rating.
Friday’s Tigers and Red Wings games combined for a peak delivery of 22.5 household ratings, a 34 share and 414,000 households from 9:30 – 9:45 pm. This equals the station’s highest-rated game average of all time (a 22.5 household rating for the Red Wings at San Jose Sharks in Game 7 of the second round of the NHL Playoffs on May 12, 2011). The Tigers averaged a 7.4 HH on Friday, a 10.6 HH rating on Saturday and 10.9 HH rating on Sunday.
