Schostak Brothers & Company, Inc. recently invested $2 million in Maccabees Center, located in the heart of the Southfield City Centre district. Improvements include renovated lobbies, elevators, common areas, restrooms, building exteriors, and energy-efficient HVAC and lighting.
Built in 1985 by Schostak, Maccabees Center is comprised of a three-story and an 11-story, landmark design office complex situated on more than nine acres along the Lodge Freeway. Building tenants enjoy numerous amenities, including an on-site cafeteria and sundry shop, superior security, conference area, on-site management and maintenance staff, and complimentary covered parking for more than 1,200 cars. Maccabees Center is within walking distance to a variety of restaurants, entertainment options and hotels, all located within the City Centre.
“The changes we have seen in the City Centre are remarkable – it has really taken off in the last few years,” said Paula E. Goldman-Spinner, RPA, City Centre board chair and vice president/director of commercial properties at Schostak.
“Schostak has been involved in the City Centre since its inception and we are proud to be part of the transformation in our community. The amenities along Civic Center Drive, the Evergreen Road improvements, restaurants, shopping, entertainment and new housing options are giving workers a reason to stay in Southfield beyond work hours.”
Established in 1920, Schostak is a fourth-generation commercial real estate company, focused on shopping center development, acquisitions, mixed-use, commercial, industrial and residential land development.
The Southfield City Centre is appreciative of the commitment Schostak has in our district. There are many great companies that are the driving force behind the City Centre’s expansion and we are very excited to see updates, like the ones made at the Maccabees Center, throughout the district.
